Overview

Sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, water heaters and toilets are all areas for potential leaks.   Older or frozen pipes, weakened connections, valve failures, earthquakes, and many other causes can turn a minor leak into big problems in minutes. These leaks can result in mold buildup behind walls and even damage structural elements of your home. Use this electrically operated shutoff valve to turn off the water where it enters your home whenever you're away.

Note: Brass valves have not been certified under NSF Standard 61, Section 9 for plumbing used for potable water.  We recommend using stainless steel valves for potable water installations.

This full port ball valve is operated by a powerful yet safe low voltage DC motor. Unlike most other valves sold for water supply shutoff this unit provides feedback in the fully open or fully closed position via contact closure. The valve can be powered from a 12 Volt DC power supply (minimum 500ma) or battery (not included). The motorized actuators used with these valves automatically turn themselves off when the open or closed position is reached and will remain in that position in the event of a power failure. Power is consumed only when the valve is in motion.  Actuators are extremely reliable, rated for 70,000 cycles, can be replaced without even turning off the water.

Use with the INSTEON I/OLinc or Smartenit EZIO40 low voltage modules to provide INSTEON control for your shutoff valve. • Link to a KeypadLinc to control the water shutoff valve from another location in your home.

Unlike most others, this valve will even confirm when it’s in the fully closed or fully open position using dry contact closures (see illustration). No more guessing!

Solid brass ball valve body is suitable for many applications, stainless steel is recommended for potable water.  Includes visual position indicator and manual override knob.
